이 연구의 목적은 시편의 최종형태 속에서 시편 110:1의 메시지를 밝히는 것이다. 이 연구는 시편 배열에 대한 구성적 접근 방법론을 사용하고 있다. 시편 110편의 거시적 맥락은 시편 2, 72, 89, 101, 110, 132, 144편과 같은 전략적으로 배치된 제왕시들이다. 시편 110편의 근접 맥락은 제5권의 첫 세 개의 다윗 시들(108–110)과 이어 따라오는 할렐루야 시편들(111–118)이다. 이 맥락에서 시편 110편의 화자는 다윗으로 확인되고 청자는 메시아로 확인된다. 다윗은 하나님의 계시를 메시아에게 선포한다. 거시적 맥락에서 모든 민족 정복이라는 과업(시 2:8, 72:8, 11)은 시편 89편에서 실패하는 것처럼 보이지만 시편 110에서 완전히 실현된다. 근접맥락에서 메시아는 종말론적 전쟁을 수행하기 전에(시 110) 다윗은 야훼의 도우심을 간구하고(시 108) 적국에 대한 저주를 퍼붓는다(시 109). 시편 110편에서 메시아는 적들을 정복하고 복종시킨 후에 그의 종말론적 전쟁을 인도하신 야훼께 찬양의 찬가들(시 111–118)을 올려드린다. 시편 최종형태의 맥락에서 시편 110:1의 메시지는 신약의 저자들이 이 본문을 다루는 방식에 대한 이해에 도움을 준다(마 22:42–46과 평행 본문).
<Abstract> The goal of this study is to illuminate the message of Psalm 110:1 in the final shape of the Psalter. This study uses the methodology of the compositional approach to the arrangement of the psalms in the Psalter. The macro–context of Psalm 110 is the strategically positioned royal psalms such as Psalms 2, 72, 89, 101, 110, 132, and 144. The micro–context of Psalm 110 is the first three Davidic Psalms(108–110) and the following Hallelujah Psalms(111–118) in Book V. In this context, the speaker of Psalm 110 is identified as David and the addressee as the Messiah. David is proclaiming the divine oracle to the Messiah. In the macro–context the agenda of conquest of all nations(Ps 2:8; 72:8, 11) appears to be aborted in Psalm 89 but is completely actualized in Psalm 110. In the micro–context, David prays for Yahweh’s help (Ps 108) and pours out his curse on the enemy nations(Ps 109) before the Messiah wages the eschatological war(Ps 110). After the Messiah conquers and subjugates the enemies in Psalm 110, the paeans of praise(Pss 111–118) are offered to Yahweh who led the Messiah’s eschatological warfare. The message of Psalm 110:1, in the context of the final shape of the Psalter, contributes to our understanding of the way by which the authors of the New Testament are handling this text(Matt 22:42–46 and par.).
